For faculty, the Institute serves as a site of collaboration, a public venue, and a resource for the realization of projects that currently have no home on the UCSC campus, whether for students or a broader audience. A 'Think Tank' composed of faculty from across the disciplines meets regularly to help generate the Institute's exhibitions and programs as a basis for teaching, and as subjects for research and writing. Faculty serve as co-curators and organizers of exhibitions, symposia, and public events, and as participants in Institute activities.
