Alexandra Moore, PhD, is currently Visualizing Abolition program manager, curator, and head of academic programs at the Institute of Arts and Sciences.
Alex has co-curated Weather and the Whale, an exhibition of art and science that connects people to the impacts of climate change, and Barring Freedom, an exhibition critically examining the histories and structures of prisons in the US. She co-organized the UC Santa Cruz Solitary Garden and the UC Santa Cruz Crochet Coral Reef.
Alex has taught at UC Santa Cruz, Sarah Lawrence College, and Appalachian State University and has published in various venues including Art Journal, Paris Review Daily, and Journal of Curatorial Studies. Alex teaches in the Visualizing Abolition Studies program at UC Santa Cruz.
