Louise Leong, Program Manager

Louise Leong is an artist, educator, and museum professional. She is a 2017 and 2020 Rydell Visual Arts Fellowship Nominee and has exhibited her work internationally, regionally in the San Francisco Bay Area and locally in Santa Cruz. In late 2018 she co-founded the Little Giant Collective printmaking studio in downtown Santa Cruz. She holds a bachelor's degree in Studio Art from UC Santa Cruz, having studied printmaking in the Art Department with a minor in Education. 

Louise offers years of experience from arts support roles. Her experience includes time spent working in the artist materials industry, assisting in an oil paintings conservation private practice, art handling, and custom framing. She has worked in the Art Department of the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, taught art workshops for Youth Now!, a Watsonville-based after school program, Porter College Creative Commons, and the Prison Arts Project in the Santa Cruz County Jail.

Louise joins the IAS as Project Manager after offering technical support of exhibitions Carlos Motta: We The Enemy and Barring Freedom in her role as Museum Preparator at the UC Santa Cruz Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery.
