Documenting Justice

The Institute of the Arts and Sciences is pleased to present “Documenting Justice,” a screening of short films curated by art professor Dee Hibbert-Jones UCSC, and filmmaker Nomi Talisman, followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers. The documentary films, which focus on prisons and justice, will be available to watch online between April 30 - May 4. Advance registration is required for online access to view the films and attend the discussion. See below for the registration link and brief summaries of the films.

Sesnon Speak Up: Underground Scholars

The Underground Scholars Initiative's mission is to build community, awareness, and support among formerly incarcerated and system impacted students into higher education and proliferate the concept of a "Prison-to-University Pipeline." Founded in 2013 at UC Berkeley, the Underground Scholars Initiative has spread across the state with chapters at community colleges and UC campuses at UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UC Merced, and UC Santa Cruz.
